As you may have noticed, we have had a busy site over the last few weeks! Here is an update on everything that has been going on.
National Lottery Heritage Fund
Topographical Survey

This is Mike, one of the Sumo team on site last month. They're working on a topographical survey to improve our understanding of our fantastic site. All part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund project, looking to the future.
The topographical survey will collect information relating to the site and its natural and man-made features for future projects and plans.
Water Survey
This is James and Morgan from Storm Geomatics with their remote-control sonar boat! They were at the Dean Heritage Centre, surveying the millpond and watercourses. Their findings will inform future management of the water at our site.
Severn Rivers Trust
Severn Rivers Trust was on site taking water samples from our stream.
This is then sent off to laboratories to test the quality, but also to identify which species are present and how many.
They will also test for water quality, all to assess the stream as a habitat. They will use this to make any recommendations for enhancing the site as a riverine habitat.
Other updates
Dennis Potter Archive Visit
On the 12th & 13th of August, we had some visitors from Studio Voltaire to film Dennis Potter documents from our archive for their exhibition, Very High Frequency.
This exhibition will reflect on Potter’s enduring relevance to contemporary culture and his formidable influence across theatre, media, art, and popular culture.
The exhibition is being held in London from the 10th of September until the 11th of January. Find out more about their exhibition here!
Green Pledge

For the first few weeks of the summer holidays, Gallery One was taken over by the Green Pledge Exhibition. Including information on our environment, creative nature-inspired activities, including submitting your promises and pledges for the planet, which was then put into their pledge-hog pictured above.
