About the event
Short talks will be given by one of our collections team on a range of objects from our stores. This is a great opportunity to see and hear about objects that are not on display and engage with the collection up close. An informal session in our Gage collections room, where we are happy to chat and answer questions.
Wednesday 18th June
Find out about the remarkable photographs taken by AB Clifford of Lightmoor colliery in the 1930s. Clifford was an important leader of mine rescue and safety locally and nationally. He developed an interest in photography and luckily for us recorded men working underground. Scans of the reverse of postcard images written by Clifford himself have kindly been sent to us by Clifford's nephew and we will be delighted to share these and talk about the images themselves.
This talk is included in the price of admission, or £4 for the talk.
If you would like to book lunch before the talk, please contact the coffee shop.
