Archaeological Finds Day

Found something unusual in your garden? Picked up an interesting object while out walking and always wondered what it might be?

Bring it along to our Archaeological Finds Day, led by Kurt Adams, Finds Liaison Officer for Gloucestershire, and have your discoveries looked at by an expert.

Kurt will help identify your find where possible and, if appropriate, it may also be recorded as part of the archaeological record.

The Dean Archaeology Group will also be joining us on the day, showcasing some of their latest finds in a small display. Visitors will have the chance to see and handle a selection of items, all excavated here in the Forest of Dean.

Whether it’s a mysterious fragment, an old object, a piece of metalwork or simply something that has left you curious, this is a great opportunity to learn more about local archaeology and the stories hidden beneath our feet.
